The Harrison Story
The Harrison family has been guiding fishermen on the Chesapeake Bay since the early 1900s — a tradition spanning five generations that has made the Harrison name synonymous with world-class sport fishing on Maryland's Eastern Shore.
At the heart of this legacy stands Captain Buddy Harrison — a true Chesapeake Bay icon. From his base at Harrison's Chesapeake House on Tilghman Island, Capt. Buddy hosted celebrities, professional athletes, politicians, businessmen, and families from across the country, earning a reputation as one of the most beloved charter captains in Maryland history.
As the old fan song went: "If he can't do it, no one can." Capt. Buddy's warmth, humor, and unmatched knowledge of the Bay made every trip an unforgettable experience.
Today, the Harrison legacy continues. Operating out of St. Michaels, Maryland aboard the Brooks Hooks, the next generation of Harrison captains carries forward everything Capt. Buddy built — the same dedication, the same Eastern Shore hospitality, and the same passion for putting fish in the boat.

$1,050 trip minimum applies (6 guests × $175). Operating a US Coast Guard certified charter vessel involves significant fixed costs — fuel, crew, insurance, maintenance, and dockage. The minimum ensures every trip is fully crewed and provisioned for an exceptional experience.

The Striped Bass — known locally as Rockfish — is the crown jewel of Chesapeake Bay fishing. These powerful, hard-fighting fish are what the Harrison family has built its reputation on for over a century.

The Chesapeake Bay is home to some of the best Striped Bass fishing on the East Coast. Our captains know every productive spot on the Bay and put you on fish all season long.

A classic Chesapeake technique — live spot or other baitfish are used to target trophy Rockfish with precision. The Harrison captains know every productive spot on the Bay.

Maryland Striped Bass Regulations

US Coast Guard Certified
The Brooks Hooks is a fully US Coast Guard certified vessel, meeting all federal safety standards for passenger charter fishing.
Licensed Captains
All Harrison captains hold current US Coast Guard operator licenses. Your safety and success on the water is our top priority.
